Working closely with celebrated furniture maker Ben Fowler this staircase was designed as part of a project linking two apartments overlooking Poole Harbour. The stair replaces an existing stair that was overly steep and did not meet current regulations. The structure comprises a central steel and ash flitch beam stringer supporting ash treads and perspex risers. The ash balustrade gains its structural integrity using alternating vertical and canted balusters.
