Transformation of ground floor apartment

This project to extend and transform an existing ground floor apartment in Hampstead was the first of several projects TRA has undertaken for this client. The conventional layout has been completely re-thought to create a free flowing space around a central service core. The north facing extension opens out onto a large garden and utilises a freeform collection of circular roof lights to improve natural light without adopting the traditional and thermally inefficient glazed roof.

The bespoke kitchen, study desk, and under bench drawers are all constructed from white polyester powder coated sheet steel and dark walnut to match the floors. A sculptural spiral wardrobe separates the living and sleeping areas and also contributes to the spacial flow.
